Awards will be given for the following categories:

The top three prizes are for the organisations/ artisans who have had the highest impact in the field on the basis of impact on communities, environment and Indian art, craft, heritage and culture. Winning organisations will get a trophy. Winning artisans will get a cash prize as a grant for improving their business, as below

1st – 3 lakh rupees

2nd – 2 lakh rupees

3rd – 1 lakh rupees

50,000 rupees will be given to the winning artisans to use for their enterprise, under each of the 7 categories. Winning organisations will receive a trophy.

15 women artisans will be selected to be mentored in digital entrepreneurship and will be enabled to strengthen the digital ecosystem in their communities.

Successful StartUp 

A startup working in handlooms and handicrafts which was established post April, 2018 and has proved to be the most successful.

  • Documentation of impact and incorporation to be submitted

Sustainable and Circular Economy

Any individual, organisation, trust or SHG which has been consistently using sustainable means of producing handloom and handicraft products. The effect on the environment by considering carbon footprint and the choice of sustainable practices would be given more attention. Includes any individual, organisation, trust or SHG which has incorporated the best principles of circular economy. Creative ideas of upcycling and recycling to present usable artistic products will be encouraged. During the second round, the following will have to be submitted, along with any other details asked for.

  • Documentation of water and energy usage, material procurement, production process, localisation of resources, cleaner supply chains, logistic and human resource management needs to be submitted.

  • Have digital means/apps helped in monitoring, maintaining and following sustainable practices and in measuring and presenting impact?

  • Documentation of the principles of circular economy like recycling, upcycling, etc being used and the impact it has had in terms of reduction in the use of new resources to be submitted.

  • Mentorship to others or other organisations in spreading the message.

Traditional Art

Any individuals, organisations, trusts or SHGs who have nurtured the excellence of traditional designs and craft techniques. During the second round, the following details will have to be submitted.

  • Documentation showing preservation of traditional designs and techniques, their historical significance, and other details to be submitted along with the digital means of enriching their presentation and preservation.

  • Mentorship of other artisans or communities will be considered.

Design Innovation

Any individual, organisation, trust, SHG or designers who have incorporated contemporary styles to adapt to the modern times. During the second round, the following details will have to be submitted.

  • A brief presentation of the adaptation, its relevance and the digital tools used to incorporate them needs to be submitted.

  • Details on how the designs have been adapted to make them more relevant in increasing usage, widening usage, making the products contemporary, modernising aspects while retaining the essence of the craft to be submitted.

  • Mentorship of other artisans or communities to be shared. 

Indian heritage on the Global Map

Any individual, organisation, trust or SHG that has used digital platforms to have the most international reach. During the second round, the following details will have to be submitted.

  • Documentation of the ways through which international market was reached and the response from such reach to be submitted.

  • The countries in which they have made an impact

  • Mentorship of other artisans or communities to be shared

  • What digital means were employed to do the same.

Inclusivity

Any organisation, trust or SHG that has valued inclusion in terms of employment and impact.During the second round, the following details will have to be submitted.

  • Documentation of the backgrounds of different employees and their role in the organisation to bring an inclusive mindset to be submitted.

  • The total number of employees and how their lives have been impacted.

  • What kind of mentorship is provided to the employees or other similar communities?

  • What is the role of digital intervention in creating a more inclusive society?

Technology innovation for arts and crafts

Organisations or individuals who have come up with some innovations that have impacted the industry as a whole. During the second round, the following details will have to be submitted.

  • Documentation of the technological innovation and the impact of it.

  • The size of impact and the depth of impact

  • Mentorship if any

Apart from the mentioned categories, there will be an overall winner for the Highest Impact

  • Impact will be analysed based on economic and environmental sustainability, uniqueness of model, number of people and crafts impacted, mentorship given, SKUs, and extent of international and national reach, innovation in usage of digital technology, and other factors which will be asked from those qualifying for the second round.
